$30 Saves Two Children from Being Orphaned
Dilcia is the mother of 2 young children, one 9 years old, one 9 months. She was suffering from severe frequent gall bladder attacks. We used a donation to pay the $30 for a preoperative exam, including a sonogram, that was a pre-requisite to surgery by the Ohio University Medical Brigade which did the surgery at no cost while they were visiting Honduras. So these 2 children will continue to have a mother, while survival without surgery was unlikely.
That up front prep work in screening, making arrangements, and liaison with visiting surgical brigade is part of medical help we have been able to routinely provide to those in need. A very little ($30) sometimes means the difference between life, death, and orphaned children.
